As of December 2019, in education, one of the most affected areas of the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected the entire world, there has been a need to revise the teaching methods with various and quick decisions. Since the outbreak had reached a level that could pose a threat to public health in Turkey, the closed educational institutions soon switched to distance learning, and students and educators were brought together using different information systems in a digital (online) environment. For design-based disciplines, this process made it mandatory to develop new solution proposals. Therefore, this study identified the problems encountered in the training of internal architecture in distance education and evaluated the process of adapting to urgent distance learning conditions. The semi-structured interview technique was applied to the faculty members of the Department of Interior Architecture at Karadeniz Technical University. This study included assessments of the adaptation processes of the lessons. As a result of the assessments, it was determined that the level of adaptation to distance education varies for each subject lesson and that this is due to the differences in efficiency levels in education. In the research, the review and evaluation of the adaptation process of the Department of Interior Architecture during the pandemic process were focused on, and it is expected that this research will contribute to the field of correcting deficiencies in the possible Internal Architecture distance education problem after the pandemic.
İç Mimarlık Programının Acil Uzaktan Eğitime Uyumlanma Süreci ve Çıkarımlar
2019 Aralık ayı itibari ile dünya genelini etkisi altına alan Covid-19 pandemi sürecinin en çok etkilediği alanlardan biri de eğitimdir. Çeşitli ve hızlı kararlarla öğretim sürecini ve yöntemlerini revize etme ihtiyacı duyulmuştur. Salgının Türkiye’de toplum sağlığını tehdit edecek seviyeye ulaşması ile uzaktan eğitim yöntemine geçilmiş, öğrenciler ve eğitmenler farklı bilişim sistemleri ile dijital (çevrim içi) ortamda bir araya getirilmiştir. Tasarım tabanlı disiplinler için bu süreç yeni çözüm önerilerinin geliştirilmesini zorunlu hale getirmiştir. Bu nedenle çalışmada, uzaktan eğitimde iç mimarlık eğitiminde karşılaşılan sorunlar saptanmış ve acil uzaktan eğitim koşullarına uyumlanma süreci değerlendirilmiştir. Görüşme tekniği oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış form ile Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi İç Mimarlık bölümü öğretim elemanlarına uygulanmıştır. Derslerin uyumlanma sürecine ilişkin değerlendirmelerine yer verilmiştir. Değerlendirmeler sonucunda uzaktan eğitime uyumlanma düzeyinin her bir ders öznelinde farklılık gösterdiği, bunun nedeninin ise eğitimde verimlilik düzeyinde görülen farklılıklar olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçları mevcut iç mimarlık eğitimin acil uzaktan eğitime uyumlanma süreci içinde eksikliklerin giderilmesi yönündeki alana katkı vermektedir.
